sogliano al rubicone is a municipality in the province of forlì-cesena which, in defense of the scenic and environmental beauty of its territory, has made the decision to concentrate in a single installation all the equipment related to mobile telephony and telecommunications, through the identification of a suitable site capable of constituting also an important observation point and a strong attraction for tourist use. the focal point is therefore the creation of a telecommunications tower capable of integrating harmoniously with the surrounding environment and defining a functional and qualified structure of the area. our project respond to these needs by proposing a tower that seeks as much as possible a relationship of mimesis with the surrounding landscape. to achieve this, a lot of work has been done on both the shape and the lining of the tower. the coating, consisting of an aluminium sheet that wraps the structural trellis and determines a “bow-shaped” shape, is interrupted at the panoramic terrace that frames the extraordinary park of the gullies. with the lining the tower takes different forms from different points of view: from the inhabited area of sogliano, only the tip of the “prua” is perceived and the tower appears thin and slender; on the opposite side, mount curto, only the ascent stairs are seen, while on the side, to the north-east and to the south-west, the curved cladding is visible, behind which the metallic structure shines. the micro-perforated aluminium coating also ensures both an effect of transparency and reflection. in this way the tower can take on the same image of the landscape that is reflected from the different points of view and during the different hours of the day. moreover, at night, games of small light sources placed behind the cladding identify the tower making it at the same time confuse with the starry sky. structurally, the tower is conceived as a simple metallic trellis with a rectangular base containing inside a metal staircase through which you can access the panoramic terrace located at an altitude of +37.00 m, above which the antennas are housed. for telecommunications.
